High court approves energy recovery facility at Newhaven

East Sussex County Council, working with Veolia will continue with their plans to build an energy recovery facility (ERF) at Newhaven. Yesterday’s ruling at the High Court confirms the Council followed planning procedures correctly.

Issued on behalf of the Central Rail Corridor Board: Rail study report concludes that reinstatement is not economically viable

The Central Rail Corridor Board received the final report of the Network Rail study on Friday (18 July) which concluded that, although it is technically feasible, there is currently no economic case for rebuilding the Lewes – Uckfield rail line. The Board’s summary of the report and its decisions is now available online and the full report will be available on Friday.
