Statement issued on behalf of the Central Rail Corridor Board – Lewes to Uckfield study

The Central Rail Corridor Board met last Friday (April 27) to discuss how best to take forward the study which they are commissioning, for the reinstatement of the Lewes – Uckfield Railway Line. This study will provide an up-to-date and definitive view on the feasibility and viability of reinstating the line. Representatives from Uckfield, Crowborough and Lewes Town Councils, and representatives of the Parish Councils in Wealden and Lewes were invited to attend as observers for the first time.
