Rye Bay and Camber Sands
To the East of the county, Rye Bay surrounds the Cinque Port towns of Rye and Winchelsea and is an area rich in wildlife and historical interest. Camber Sands is a popular sandy beach, with picturesque dunes and interesting wildlife.
The Ouse Estuary Project
The Ouse Estuary Project has created a nature reserve at Newhaven. It covers natural marshland and reedbeds at the mouth of the River Ouse. Trees and shrubs have already been planted and new cycleways and footpaths cross the area.
Easy access to the East Sussex countryside
